Washington Capitals Alex Ovechkin Breaks NHL All-Time Goal Scoring Record!

On April 6th, 2025, the Washington Capitals Super Star Alex Ovechkin achieved a historic milestone by surpassing Wayne Gretzky's long-standing record of 894 career goals, becoming the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer. With his 895th goal, Ovechkin not only etched his name into the record books but also solidified his legacy as one of hockey's greatest players.

On April 7th 2025 - ProFootballStuff.com released a series of commemorative Alex Ovechkin souvenir merchandise to celebrate this historic feat!

The historic goal came during a game against the New York Islanders. Following the goal, the game was paused for over ten minutes to honor the achievement. Both teams lined up to shake Ovechkin's hand, and a mid-game ceremony was held, with Gretzky joining Ovechkin on the ice alongside his family and NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
